Located only a few hundred feet across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C., Arlington’s proximity to our nation’s capital has created a common history, connecting it to Washington, D.C. from very day the city was first conceived. Originally part of the 10-mile square boundary of the Capital City, Arlington played a central role in the birth of our nation’s capital, and in the formation of our country.
